Head Prefects' Messages

HEAD GIRL 2021 - Milla Dibben

Kia ora, it is such an honour to be named the head girl of Whakatane High School for 2021.

To be lucky enough to lead our school alongside our truly amazing and humble head boy Philip Nuku, and our incredibly passionate team of prefects. I have been inspired in so many ways by a huge number of people throughout my time at Whakatane High School and hope to return the favour.

I aim to help create a safe and comforting school culture by being thoughtful, caring and inclusive. I hope to radiate a positive energy which uplifts the people of Whakatane High School, encouraging everyone to grab ahold of the opportunities that we are offered. Finally, I want to support our students to recognise that each of their goals are valid, that no ambition is too big, and that striving high is nothing to shy away from.

HEAD BOY 2021 - Philip Nuku

I intend to lead our school with pride following our school values Respect, Responsibility and Achievement, and I encourage everyone of my peers to do the same.

So, this is my challenge to everyone - don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zones. Reach for the sky, and when you get there, don’t stop, keep going.
