A correctly worn uniform promotes pride, respect, responsibility and most importantly, allows a focus on education and academic success. All uniform requirements are available at Decoy in Kopeopeo. Other local shops have non-specialist articles such as shirts, shoes and black trousers. Whakatane High School does not have a second hand uniform shop.

Any jeans, excessively baggy or tight trousers; trousers that are in a poor state of repair - torn or ripped. Track pants.

|
Regulation black shorts with the WHS logo. A plain black belt may be worn.

A black skirt, knee length, “straight” cut.

Formal Dress Uniform
At specified times such as when travelling to another school, at prize giving or other formal occasions, students may be required to wear the more formal dress uniform. This uniform includes a white blouse or shirt with the school tie, a monogrammed school blazer, black skirt, black longs and black shoes.
PE Uniform
All pupils are expected to change into the regulation PE uniform for Physical Education.
Whakatane High School's Uniform Policy
If you wear an item of clothing that is non-regulation, two things will happen:
- The student will be asked to see Ms Hughes and she will swap the non-regulation uniform item for the day. The student will return the WHS item to her at 3 pm that day to get their own item back. If the student takes the WHS item home it must be returned the following day. If it is not returned an account will be sent home to recover the cost of the item.
- The student will be asked to remove the non-regulation item and it will be confiscated, non-regulation items may be collected at the back of the School Hall on Fridays at 3.00pm. The parent/caregiver may be asked to come into the school to collect the non-regulation item.
